HYBRIDS

Hybrids have an upcharge of 30€ and their basis status (=without any traits) is 30 points.
They can only be acquired through auctions and commissions.

Hybrids are the offspring of a forbidden interfamiliar relationship and are not able to procreate. These unfortunate children are despised and avoided by almost all families, and can only find cover and actual safety in the different Afet cities around the world. Afet are the big exception in the Hybrid dilemma, please keep this in mind while reading!

  • Hybrids usually have two powers: one of their mother’s family, one of their father’s.

  • Hybrid witches do not need Soul Names to curse a person and blessed hybrids do not need a Soul Name to bless a person.

  • The curses of hybrid witches are in general stronger, however, they are not able to kill another person only with a curse. (with the exception of Kiyamet)

  • All other powers work the same as they do for every other Uçalım.

Their parents usually try to keep them hidden, and sometimes, that also works for a while. Every Hybrid has a certain pattern or color that will give them away, but some only develop these treacherous traits as late as their teenager years. As soon as their village/staff/community finds out they are hybrids, they usually either get exiled, executed or worse. Some are however, able to survive the dangerous journey into an Afet city, where any violence of that sort is strictly forbidden. Hybrids are usually hunted down by Atabey, who use their trackers and hitmen to take them out quickly and precisely.

But why are Hybrids feared enough that even Inci and Eser exile their offspring if it turns out to be a mix between two families?Maybe one of the reasons is the ongoing dispute between all families? Hybrids undermine this war and blur the lines between two opposing families. Another reason might be the fact that they are infertile?

No, the main reason that has given the Hybrids such a bad stigma, is the terrible power a Hybrid witch can gain.

LEGEND

Many centuries back, after the seven families have established their place in the world, living together in peace, the demons, jealous of their creation being taken away from them, created their own family; a wild, restless bunch called the Taarih, who would inhabit the wide plains of Cihan. Since the angels created this realm so that no angel or demon could do any direct damage to it, they could only watch as the demons let their new invention loose on the world. This strong and violent family would only interact with other physically strong families, like the Eser, Atabey, and Caglayan. Back then, hybrids would cause no big scandal, and you would regularly see a hybrid between stronger families, or one between weaker families.
One day, however, a Taarih fell in love with an Afet and a hybrid called Kiyamet was born from that connection. It was a restless kid, but just as loyal to her Afet mother as she was fierce towards those in her way. Her father, an unusually gentle Taarih, would sometimes visit the Afet capital, where her mother and the hybrid herself would stay.

The Taarih however did not appreciate their bloodline being tainted with the weakness of the Afet. One day, Kiyamet’s father was killed by a wild bunch of Taarih, not returning to the capital any longer. Kiyamet’s mother wept upon hearing of her lover’s death, and Kiyamet herself, not more than a young woman at that time, felt the demon blood in her boil from anger as she set out to find her father’s murderers.

However, she did not come far. An entire army of Taarih warriors have set up camp in front of the Afet capital, preparing for an attack to get rid of the last stain in their bloodline.

If only they had known of Kiyamet’s power, there might still be an eighth family today; for she was a hybrid witch, a powerful being that could curse and kill people with a single look from her glowing eyes.

In a matter of minutes, the army’s soldiers were lying on the ground, writhing in pain from the Hybrid’s lethal curse. Kiyamet did not hesitate, she was certain now that the Taarih did not deserve to live for even a day longer. Spreading her four demonic wings, she took off towards the Taarih’s lands, leaving a trail of death wherever she went.

The message of what had happened spread like a wildfire. While the Afet saw Kiyamet as their saviour and worshipped her, the other families feared the hybrid’s strength, her ability to wipe out entire armies without moving a finger. These six families started to regard their own hybrids with the same fear they regarded Kiyamet with, and as the message of the Taarih’s extinction reached all families, the biggest massacre in the history of the Uçalım began:

Hybrids were exiled from their families, entire squadrons of Atabey, more than willing to avenge the Taarih, roamed the lands, killing off every Hybrid they could find- … often without consideration for collateral damage.

Realizing the war she has caused, Kiyamet was at loss as to what to do to protect her family. Badly wounded from the last Taarih she had fought, exhausted by her outburst, she collapsed in her mother’s arms. With her last breath, she put an eternal spell on Lualiwa, which will punish every murder of a Hybrid with a painful death.

Since those days, Hybrids have been forbidden, only save behind the walls of Lualiwa, the island Samimi as well as other Afet capitals, that were strong enough to protect them without the need of Lualiwa’s spell. Atabey are still sworn to keep the rest of Cihan free from any hybrids, acting mercilessly upon finding one. Never will they let something like the Kiyamet massacre happen again.
