GERMAN

The ÇaÄŸlayan (Sea Birds) are the Uçalım's pirates, raiders and lawbreakers. They are a violent family who will rob you of all your belongings before breakfast.

Examples: Halcyon, Swan, Seagull, Duck, Flamingo, Ibis, Heron, Spoonbill, etc.

APPEARANCE

Average Height:  165 - 190
Average Weight: slightly heavier than humans

Strength: ◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◇◇◇

Heat resistance: ◆◆◆◆◆◆◆◇◇◇
Cold resistance: ◆◆◆◆◆◆◇◇◇◇

They tend to wear baggy clothes brimmed with weapons. Their clothes are usually made out of linen and leather. They are very colorful, but its quite uncommon to see a ÇaÄŸlayan with an intense eye color. ÇaÄŸlayan often collect feathers from their victims, and sometimes even display them on their outfit if they deem them decorative enough.

BEHAVIOR

They continuously try to evade the Atabey, who try to track them down and prosecute them for the crimes they have committed. ÇaÄŸlayan also, just like Devrim, sometimes hunt down and catch Inci because of their beautiful healing voice. An Inci on a Caglayan ship however has a far lower life expectancy than one in a Devrim mansion. Water might be dangerous to most Uçalım, but ÇaÄŸlayan can even use their wings to swim and maneuver underwater like fish. Some of them can hold their breath for so long, that the rumour has come up that ÇaÄŸlayan have gills on their necks.

Education

The ÇaÄŸlayan do not have a set school system, and some of them have never learned how to read or write. They, however, refer to it as "learning from life", if they ever bother to explain.

HABITAT

Despite them spending most of their days on their ships, they still have a capital, almost a dark, shady copy of Lualiwa. It is an enormous haven called Engin, sometimes called "The Haven Of A Thousand Ships". This is where they can fill up their reserves, hire new crew members, or go drink in one of its countless taverns. Not too far away from Engin is the rumored Black Market, a forbidden conglomerate of Belig, ÇaÄŸlayan and Eser offering goods that you could never get legally. No Atabey force, no matter how big, has ever been able to take down either of these places, since their convenient placement close to the shore makes it easy for sirens to drown an entire squadron in an instant.

HYBRIDS

They usually throw their hybrids off their ships. Not because they care about the blood line, but just because its a great opportunity to let someone else walk the plank.

TRAITS

  • Nazar: Some ÇaÄŸlayan who have raided Belig caravans have stolen Nazars from them, rare pendants that can disguise and hide a ÇaÄŸlayan from an Atabey's third Eye, prevents them from being tracked and also prevent falling for the Afet's illusions.
The Nazar has an area of effect equal to the points of the wearer in metres in which it's effects will be active. The design of the Nazar should always contain the symbol resembling an eye.

  • Water-filled glass-orb: The glass-like eyes that some Caglayans have, filled with seawater, or sometime even entire reefs and microcosms, are said to be of such fascinating beauty that they can hypnotize those that stare into them for too long. You can choose if your Caglayan has two or just one glass orb.

  • Gills: You can put as many as you want on any part of the body.

  • Blood: Their blue blood can make them invisible and untrackable and tastes like salt. Click here for more information.
