GERMAN

The Afet (Tropical Birds) are a free-spirited, superficial family who care about nothing more than what someone looks like. Even if you commit a major crime in one of their capitals, you will absolutely get away with it if you have a stunning face or pair of wings.

Examples: Quetzal, Parrot, Toucan, Cockatoo, Parakeets, Bellbird etc.

Afet appear in all sorts of colors, and only single- or double colored birds are a rarity among them. Just like the Inci, they wear very light fabrics, but they like accessorizing with heavy gold and silver bracelets, necklaces, and other pieces of jewelry. Their clothes also represent their status: a veil means that the Afet is part of the outer circle of the harem, whereas gilded tips of their feathers and floating rings mean that they are part of a harem's inner circle. Being a member of the inner circle also means being married to their Pasha.

BEHAVIOR

The Afet are an open and social family who do not care what family you belong to. The only family they do not have any contact with are the Devrim, who strongly disagree with the Afet's way of life. The social status of an Afet is determined by how many members their harem has. The Sultan is usually considered one of the most beautiful Afet in the capital, and the person who managed to get the most people around themselves. Concubines who have been in a harem long enough usually often get granted immunity from the law, and some of them have exploited that freedom by following illegal activities, or even becoming assassins.

EDUCATION

Usually, Afet children who have been born in a harem will receive education by other members of that harem, from the ages 4 to 12. After that, an Afet's general education is finished, and they usually go about their lives being members of their respective harems. Children who have not been born into a harem will be taught by their parents for an undefined time, helping them tend to the fields and crops that feed the upper Afet society. Children born to the sultan, the Afet’s leader, usually get specially trained teachers, giving them the decision at 10 cycles to either stay in the sultan's Harem or create one of their own. If they decide for the first, their education will continue like that of a normal child until they reach 12 cycles. If they decide for the latter, they will be further educated in management, security and seduction, until they will graduate with eighteen cycles and try to build up a harem of their own.

HABITAT

Their capital is called Lualiwa and they live on the western desert shores. Despite being so close to the sea, home of the Caglayan, their fortresses are strong and secure enough to lead a very calm life. Their second biggest city is Hatay, and despite Lualiwa being the capital, many claim that Hatay is the most beautiful of the Afet cities.

HYBRIDS

Afet do not prosecute their hybrids. In fact, their capitals are safe havens for hybrids all around the world, since they do not care about heritage, but only about an Uçalım's beauty.

TRAITS

  • Veil: A veil means that the Afet belongs to the outer circle of a harem.

  • Gilded Tips: Those represent that the Afet belongs to the inner circle of a harem and is married to their Pasha.

  • Floating rings: They can be located around their hips, legs, ankles or wrists and represent that the Afet belongs to the inner circle of a harem and is married to their Pasha.

  • Diamond Tears: Diamonds don’t grow naturally in Cihan. Most of the currently used diamonds were created by an Afet’s tears.

  • Dreamcatcher: Their powers are greatly amplified if they are born with a magical dreamcatcher implanted into their palm - also known as Karabasan.

  • Blood: Their pink blood works like a love potion and tastes sweet. Click here for more information.
