The Atabey (Birds of Prey) are the Uçalım's military.

Examples. Secretary Bird, Eagles, Hawks, Falcons, Kites, Caraca, Harrier, Osprey, Kestrel, etc.

They usually wear traditional/old-fashioned military clothing, suits and boots, and a utility belt full of weapons is almost obligatory. Most of them have intense, piercing eyes, usually yellow. Brown, white and grey are very common colors among them. They are also, besides the Eser, the physically strongest family.

The uniform of bodyguards is usually simple and proper, with a rather modest utility belt and unobtrusive protective gadgets. Their few weapons are usually well hidden in their clothes. The uniform of bounty hunters contains more gadgets, a bigger utility belt, and several pockets for supplies, weapons and poisons, since they are not supposed to kill their targets. Hitmen’s uniforms are lighter than bounty hunter’s, since they have no need for paralyzing poisons or ropes. Their uniforms hide the most weapons by far, and have to be light enough to chase down their targets. Of course, every Atabey has their own, personal outfit, which doesn’t have to have anything to do with their faction. However, for official events, they usually wear their official Atabey uniforms.

BEHAVIOUR

Many of the Atabey's bodyguards work for the Afet, Belig or the Devrim, who sometimes also hire Bounty Hunters or Hitmen. The two latter factions also regularly go out and hunt down Çağlayan, the family who they have the most violent history with. Even though often requested, Atabey never hunt down Inci for the Devrim.

EDUCATION

Atabey all go to the same school from 4 to 18 cycles. Of course, each year is in different classes, and those are also split up depending on the student's skills. At age 15, they will have to choose their path of bodyguard, bounty hunter or hitman, and are from then on also sorted in corresponding classes. Some especially talented Atabey can also skip a few classes and go to a higher class at a younger age. There is also a highly elite school, where the most promising children are educated into special operation forces. Pupils who attend that school are cut off from almost all outward contacts, including their parents and people they knew. These Atabey's education lasts 3 cycles longer than other's.

FACTIONS

They are split into three factions: Bodyguards (protect), Bounty Hunters (track down), and Hitmen (eliminate their targets). Each faction has their own uniform and symbol. These three tiers each have their own main duties, but members of higher tiers can also take on the duties of lower tiers. Therefore, hitmen can also take on bounty hunter or bodyguard jobs, but bodyguards are not qualified to do a hitman’s or bounty hunter’s work. Therefore, their symbols are as follows: Bodyguards have a shield as their symbol, Bounty hunters have the same shield with an eye on it’s surface and Hitmen also have that shield with the eye, but they also have a vertical sword depicted behind the shield.

HABITAT

Since these Uçalım are very spread out over the world, they also do not have dashing cities like Afets do. They do however have their headquarters in the North of Cihan, on the highest peak of an enormous mountain chain. This place is called Vuslat, and it is where the Atabey of the highest ranks give out orders to their fellow family members. The air in Vuslat is really thin and can only be endured by Atabey or Taarih..

The Rogue Atabey of Vahsi are everything Atabey children in Vuslat are taught not to be. Their violent demeanor, disregard for the rules and lack of loyalty and professionalism makes them resemble the Çağlayan more than their own family. Due to them not putting any worth on keeping their clients safe, they usually do not get hired for bodyguard jobs. However, they will gladly do someone’s dirty work, if the payment is right.

HYBRIDS

Hybrids are usually killed on the spot as soon as they're found out, since Atabey place a huge value on keeping their lines closed. It's very hard for these hybrids to escape, since many Atabeys are able to use magic to track down Uçalım over long distances.

TRAITS

Third Eye: A few Atabeys were born with the so-called "third eye", a natural, moving tatoo which greatly amplifys their tracking skills and enables them to see almost everything they want.
Long, Strong Nails: If an Atabey has this trait, their nails grew to be way sharper and more resistant than those of other Uçalim, to the point where they can easily dig them into metal without them breaking.
