GERMAN

The nocturnal Devrim (Night Birds), who mainly consist of owls, are the Uçalım's aristocrats. They live in castles and big mansions, and many of them hire Atabey as bodyguards, or to do their dirty work. Despite most of them being cold and conceited, there are, just like everywhere, a few exceptions to that.

Examples: Owls, Ravens, Magpies, etc.

APPEARANCE

Average Height: 155 - 180
Average Weight: human
Strength: ◆◆◆◆◆◇◇◇◇◇

Heat resistance: ◆◆◆◆◇◇◇◇◇◇
Cold resistance: ◆◆◆◆◆◆◇◇◇◇

They usually dress very elaborately, gowns and fancy suits are standard. They have taken quite the liking to embroidered, soft fabrics and laces imported by the Belig. Their pallette is darker in general, which makes their eyes, often orange or even red, seem as if they were glowing. Their powers have made them the family with the oldest members, some being several centuries old.

BEHAVIOR

They usually interact with Atabey and Belig solely on a matter of business, and some of them enjoy going outside, hunting down and catching Inci for their beautiful voices, which have a soothing and healing effect.

EDUCATION

Rich Devrim children have individual teachers, old Devrim who teach them everything they need to know about the world. They're taught from three cycles upwards until they become 20, at which age they will usually take over their parent's businesses. Devrim children from poorer families will go to public schools, where they will study a wide range of subjects from the ages 6 to 16. Servants and other Devrim in similar positions are usually taught by their lead servant, will learn basic writing, reading and calculating skills, but most of all learn how to take care of the richer members of their society.

HABITAT

Devrim live in a more moderate climate, just like the Atabey. Another similarity to them is, that they also do not have one dashing capital, but rather a rich area full of beautiful castles and stunning mansions, called Altan. Since these unions of castles often host long and pompous balls, and many Devrim are therefore invited and drawn to this place, it could be considered an equivalent to a Devrim capital. However, there are also diurnal Devirm who live rather secluded on an island called Samimi, which is located north-east of Altan. Samimi is next to the Afet cities the only place where hybrids can live in peace. The strange magic surrounding this place influences even the seasons, causing them to swap only between spring and summer. The reason why Caglayan don't attack this rather unprotected island is the numerous maelstroms surrounding the island, which are rumored to swallow any ship that would approach the island with ill intent. Right in the center of the island is an enormous statue of an angel, which is also centered in the main square of Samimi's capital.

HYBRIDS

If a hybrid is found out, they get rid of them as fast and quietly as possible. They will either hire an Atabey hitman or persuade someone else to get rid of them, but Devrim never get their hands dirty themselves. Devrim are taught from birth that they are inherently better than any other family out there.

TRAITS

  • Wings Reflect Night Sky: This Trait can be applied to ears, tails, ankle wings, feather fluff and decorative feathers, as well.

  • Paper skin: If a Devrim is born with paper skin, the ink on it has a life of its own, writing down the things they have experienced on their skin, making even only showing their arms a rather intimate gesture. The paper skin can include their entire skin, but can also be restricted to a certain area, like an arm or leg.

  • Night Sky eyes: They are a mirror of how many deaths they have seen in their lives. For every death, a new star appears in their eyes. You can choose if your Devrim has two or just one night sky eye.In combination with the heterochromia trait you can give your Devrim two differently colored night sky eyes. However, if you want your Devrim to have only one night sky eye you don't need the heterochromia trait.

  • Glowing spiderwebs: The spiderwebs, that dwell on some Devrim’s wings or lashes, are made by diamond spiders, which are tiny, valuable pets held by the richest of Devrims. Some produce not only glowing silk, but actual diamonds, too small to actually sell, but a popular way of ornamenting for Devrims.

  • Script Eyes: If a Devrim is born with Script Eyes, the ink in them has a life of its own, writing down the things they have experienced, think of feel in their sklera, making even simple eye contact a rather intimate gesture.

  • Blood: Their black blood works like deadly poison and tastes like ink. Click here for more information.
