HATAY BAZAR 28.08.

DAY OF FLIGHT 29.09.
A festival where the artificial wings built by Eser children are tested and various inventions are presented. Other families are coming as well and either enjoy the show or look out for the most talented ones.

RITES OF PROTECTION
During the month of Cyclamen, Uçalim of all families perform rites - said to be passed down by an Angel - to protect their home and loved ones from evil. To this day it isn't clear in which family this festival actually has it's roots, but it is old enough that even the Taarih once knew of it's existence.

ECLIPSE BALL
The one celebration day where all Devrim will stay awake during the day and watch the sun be hidden by the moon. This is also the only day they allow other families into their castles. It happens several times a year, and also during Halloween.

ANCESTRAL FESTIVAL

Every year, Uçalım honor their dead and the ones that came before them, with every family having developed their own traditions and beliefs around this day.

AFET

The tropical birds truly celebrate the life of those that have left them, with lavish parties and a big parade in every city. The dancers of the parade all veil their faces, while all other Afet usually will paint their faces, all in an effort to be closer to their ancestors.

ATABEY

Birds of prey won't celebrate, but they do think of their dead, with a march of mourning in especially black uniforms and a few minutes of military devotion.

BELIG

Belig will congregate around their tombs, dozens of caravans surrounding them. They will celebrate with a feast to honor their ancestors and will throw silver into the tombs, as a way to send good luck and fortune to the deceased in heaven.

CAGLAYAN

Sea birds, similarly to Afet, will paint their faces, however they believe it is to protect them from dead rivals or mischievous family members, that might wish to harm or prank them. They will also put food outside their homes or the decks of their ships at dusk to appease the dead and any Caglayan of sound mind will stay inside on this night of the year, so as not to fall prey to the spirits.

DEVRIM

Nightbirds usually will visit the gravestones of the deceased, bringing candles and flowers to the graves, as well as sitting together with some tea and biscuits and reminiscing about the dead.

ESER

The flightless birds will pull out a machine, automaton or other piece of work of the deceased and putting it in the middle of their table will hold a small banquet, including their ancestors in the family that way.

INCI

For the gentlest family, this day is all about quiet rememberance. They will grow statues and memorials from different plants or nurture trees that were planted in the dead's honor.

TAARIH

New to Cihan, the extinct birds are also new to the concept of thinking about their dead. Thus the other families will introduce them to their traditions, and it will depend on the Taarih's surroundings, which they will try out!
